This section outlines what you can expect from us and the fundamental responsibilities we entrust to you as an author.
When you publish with OASE Publishing, you will experience:

- As an open access publisher, we ensure your work is promptly available to a worldwide audience, maximizing its potential for readership, citation, and real-world influence.
- Leave the production details to us. Our dedicated team ensures your article meets the highest presentation standards, so you can be confident in the final polished version.
Upholding the highest ethical standards is fundamental to the scholarly record. We expect all authors to adhere to the following principles, which are in accordance with our core value of Integrity and international guidelines from COPE, ICMJE, STM, among others.
To be listed as an author, The ICMJE recommends that authorship be based on the following 4 criteria:
- Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
- Drafting the work or reviewing it critically for important intellectual content; AND
- Final approval of the version to be published; AND
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
All those who meet these criteria must be listed as authors. Individuals who have contributed through funding, technical support, or general supervision without meeting the full authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the respective section. The use of AI or AI-assisted tools does not constitute authorship and must be transparently disclosed.
The corresponding author acts on behalf of all co-authors and is responsible for manuscript submission, communication during the review process, and ensuring that all authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript.
We only consider original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere. By submitting your manuscript, you confirm its originality.
Any verbatim text or data from other sources must be appropriately quoted and given full attribution. Permission must be secured for the reuse of copyrighted material.
We utilize iThenticate to screen all submissions for potential plagiarism. Manuscripts with suspected plagiarism will be handled in accordance with COPE guidelines, which may result in rejection or retraction.
Authors must transparently declare all potential conflicts of interest—both financial and non-financial—that could reasonably be perceived as influencing their research or its interpretation. This includes but is not limited to financial interests such as employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, grants or other funding; as well as non-financial interests including personal or professional relationships, institutional affiliations, or deeply held personal beliefs. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed. These disclosures should be provided at the earliest possible stage, ideally upon manuscript submission, to ensure full transparency and maintain research integrity.
We support early sharing and welcome submissions that have been previously posted on recognized preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, bioRxiv). Authors must disclose the preprint upon submission and cite it in the reference list.
Submitting multiple papers reporting on the same research project without substantial new content is not permitted. Authors should avoid undue fragmentation of their work.
Publication of work that first appeared in an author's thesis or in a conference abstract/proceeding is generally acceptable. Authors must clearly cite the original source and, if necessary, secure permissions for any copyrighted material.
In line with our value of Innovation and following COPE guidelines, we encourage adherence to the STM position on the responsible use of AI tools in research.
AI systems cannot be listed as an author.
Authors must explicitly declare the use of AI-assisted technologies in the creation of their manuscript (e.g., for language polishing, data analysis) within the Methods or Acknowledgements section.
Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the content generated by both humans and AI tools, and for ensuring appropriate editing and oversight of any AI-generated output.
For Reviewers
Peer review plays a critical role in safeguarding the quality and credibility of scientific research. At OASE Publishing, we deeply appreciate the invaluable contributions of our reviewers, whose expertise and diligence help uphold the integrity of our journals. We hope for a constructive, respectful, and efficient review process that benefits authors, readers, and the broader research community.
Review reports should provide a brief summary of the research, general feedback on its scientific merit, and specific comments addressing methodology, reproducibility, and textual clarity. Reviewers are expected to evaluate the full manuscript and any supplementary materials, offering thorough and constructive critiques to assist authors in improving their work.
Please assess the quality of figures and the appropriateness of statistical analyses. Where necessary, editors may seek access to primary data to support the evaluation. While reviewers may suggest relevant references, these should meaningfully strengthen the manuscript—not serve as honorary or self-citations.
Timely feedback is essential to the scientific communication process. Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the agreed-upon timeframe. Should an extension be necessary, please notify the editorial office promptly and provide a revised completion date.
Reviewers must remain vigilant regarding actual or potential conflicts of interest. In case of doubt, we encourage reviewers to consult COPE's Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers and contact the handling editor for guidance. Situations requiring disclosure or recusal include:
- Reviewers work at the same institution as any of the authors.
- Reviewers have been a co-author, collaborator, or have had other academic ties with any author within the past five years.
- Reviewers have a close personal relationship, rivalry, or personal conflict with any of the authors.
- Reviewers could gain or lose financially from the publication of the manuscript.
- Reviewers have any other non-financial conflict of interest (e.g., political, personal, religious, ideological, academic, intellectual, or commercial).
- Other circumstances could be seen as supporting or opposing the paper or the authors.
All manuscripts must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers may not share, cite, or use unpublished content—including text, data, or figures—without explicit permission from the editor and authors.
Generative AI tools must not be used to analyze, summarize, or process manuscript content. Limited use for language polishing of the review itself is permitted, provided the reviewer ensures the accuracy and integrity of all feedback.
For Editors
At OASE Publishing, our academic editors serve as the intellectual foundation of our publishing mission, guiding journal development and upholding scholarly standards. They evaluate submissions based on originality, methodological rigor, and disciplinary relevance, ensuring each publication enriches academic discourse. Our editors operate within a framework of editorial independence, ethical accountability, and inclusivity, safeguarding research integrity and promoting a constructive peer review process.
The Editor-in-Chief offers academic leadership and bears overall responsibility for the journal's editorial quality, strategic development, and adherence to publishing ethics. Key duties include:
- Defining the journal's scope, editorial policies, and long-term vision
- Rendering final decisions on manuscripts and resolving complex peer review cases
- Guiding and overseeing the contributions of the Editorial Board and Guest Editors
- Addressing ethical issues and ensuring consistent application of publication standards
- Collaborating with the publisher on journal development, promotion, and outreach
- Representing the journal within international academic and professional circles
The EiC is responsible for the content of the entire journal and instrumental in fostering a culture of scholarly rigor and steering the journal's ongoing evolution.
Editorial Board Members are recognized experts who lend their scholarly expertise to uphold the journal's academic standards and operational fairness. Their primary responsibilities include:
- Handling the peer review of assigned manuscripts in their areas of specialty
- Identifying and inviting competent peer reviewers
- Evaluating peer review feedback and forming editorial recommendations
- Proposing themes for special issues and occasionally contributing scholarly content
- Promoting the journal within their academic and professional networks
Through their dedicated service, Board Members help ensure a rigorous, impartial, and efficient editorial process while supporting the journal's growth and diversity.
Guest Editors are appointed to oversee special issues or thematic collections focused on emerging or interdisciplinary topics. Their role is confined to the specific issue they coordinate. Responsibilities encompass:
- Developing a special issue proposal in collaboration with the EiC
- Inviting and managing submissions pertinent to the issue's theme
- Supervising peer review and providing editorial recommendations consistent with journal standards
- Ensuring all accepted articles fulfill ethical and scholarly requirements
- Coordinating editorial activities and timelines to deliver the special issue as scheduled
Guest Editors infuse new expertise and perspectives into the journal and are expected to uphold the same ethical and editorial standards as the core editorial team.
